Tim Kent named OCRS Competition Director

John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (February 8, 2023) - Oil Capital Racing Series owners Kerry Gorby and Terry Mattox are pleased to announce that Longtime racer Tim Kent of Bristow will be the new OCRS Competition Director for the 2023 season. Kent replaces Michael Tyre who left the position after the 2022 season.

Kent has raced with OCRS many times over the years and became interested in becoming involved with the series in a service capacity after recent talks with series co-owner Terry Mattox.

“Terry and I were talking at Creek County (indoor show) about two months ago,” Kent said of concern for the longevity of the series. “I broke a knee cap and have not been able to race. I have been racing this series since the MAPS series.

“I hope to be able to look at it through a racers eye as much as a promoters eye. I want to make it where everyone plays on the same rules. This series is a stepping stone for kids to move up.”

The 2023 AmeriFlex / OCRS Sprint Car season opens March 11 at Red Dirt Raceway.
