Tulsa Oklahoma (August 27, 2013)- For all you Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway fans, the Oil Capital Racing Series has something in store for you this Saturday night and we suggest you be at the speedway to check out what OCRS is bringing to the table!

Do you like buying a ticket to a race without a solid clue as to who will win? Like that kind of racing drama do you? The winner could be a male or could be a female. Winner could be a veteran or could be a rookie. Winner could be from a powerhouse team or could be a team on a shoestring budget. Well race fans, it has happened to all of the above as the OCRS series has produced 11 winners against 17 events conducted. In short…..that’s a big WOW!

Of the 11 drivers that have graced victory lane this season, seven of those have collected their first OCRS feature wins. Last week, it was Caney Kansas native Andrew Deal adding his name to a list of winners that continues to grow and grow making OCRS one of the most balanced series in the country. As the teams roll into Kerry Gorby’s 1/4 –mile corral this week, Caney fans will be cheering for one of their own when Deal looks to make it two sprint wins in a row, not just in OCRS competition, but in his open wheel career!

Current OCRS points leader Harli White will have the attention of everyone as well as the ‘Lindsay Flash’ won the last time OCRS warriors came roaring into town in what was a wingless affair. White leads the series with six wins to her credit. The drivers holding top ten points positions that are expected to vie for the last 2013 win at Caney include:

Danny Smith: A two-time winner this season going back-back at Outlaw Motorsports Park and Brill Motor Speedway, “The Caretaker” will look to cut into White’s point lead as he trails by only 73 points (1395-1322). With a total of 95 points available per event, Smith could easily capitalize if White should stumble.

Kade Morton: At just 18 years of age, Morton won quickly having bagged a win at the Thunderbird Speedway in April in just his first year of sprint car racing. He is young and fast and more success is expected from him.

Johnny Kent: Card shuffling to gamblers is what ‘Hotrod’ does when not gambling on his set ups. While still looking for that breakthrough win, Hotrod has the skill and talent to make it happen. Keep an eye on the number 55.

Alex DeCamp: A winner in his first full season in sprint cars (Tri-State Speedway), DeCamp was touted as a gasser in the micro sprint ranks and he has shown he can handle full sprints quite well. Win number two coming this weekend?

Kyle Clark: Another driver on the hunt for that first win, Clark has shown flashes that such a feat could happen. A teammate to Smith, Clark has a great tutor to learn from. Will this be the weekend for car number nine to shine?

Michael Tyre: Running the OCRS tour full time in 2013, Tyre has shown improvement throughout the season. His team has been dedicated and loyal to the series this season and they have the respect of their peers for being such a partner. The number 11 car will continue to strive for more improved results.

Chance Morton: A winner at the Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway one day before his 15th birthday and younger brother to Kade, Chance was another surprise new winner on tour. The young man can ‘gas it’ and like Kade, either could easily snare a second win before the season is out.

Casey Wills: Now here is a driver that has shown he can get the job done. He finished 2012 with a second place run and it was thought that a win in 2013 was very possible for the Sperry Oklahoma pilot. That happened at the Salina Highbanks and along with it came instant gratification for the team’s hard work.

Alex Sewell: If there were to be a poll as to who would be the next driver to score a win this season, Sewell most likely would top that list. The Broken Arrow shoe has plenty of skills to get the job done. The equipment and team knowledge is there. Its just waiting for that one night for it to all come together. A win this week wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

While these are the Top-10 teams, honorable mentions go out to drivers like Michael Bookout, Dan Schnackenberg and Perry Pickard for their support of the OCRS series. Not only are these men supporters, each of them are just great individuals and a pleasure to have in the pits as well as on the track.

Each team understands the importance to credit “The Fans” for their support in addition to those that race to win. Our fans are the lifeline to our sport and the OCRS series raises a toast to all of you! Join us this Saturday night in what will surely be a wild and entertaining event. We look forward to seeing all of you then!
